Stage 1 – Exploring Jura. It is the Grand Colombier massif which will be in main goal and the spotlight of this 1st stage.
For this 1st stage, you will run on Grand Colombier mountain range, located in Ain county. After a start in Valserhône, you will climb the crests. Once at the top, you will take a hilly path that gradually climbs up to the top of Grand Colombier where you will have a 360-degree panoramic view. Lac du Bourget, Mont-Blanc summit, Annecy, Jura mountain range and the valley on the other side… An exceptional panorama as an appetizer. You will enjoy running Grand Colombier downhill towards the beautiful finish line close to a pond.

Stage 2 – Into the wild Vercors. Let’s go in magnificent Vercors massif in Drôme for this 2nd stage in high mountains.

Léoncel ➡︎ Chatillon-en-Diois – 69 km – 3300 m D+.

Make way for the sublime Vercors massif a very wild 2nd stage, which is also the one that offers the greatest difference in altitude (3,300 meters). From the Abbey of Léoncel, you will discover the balconies of the Glandasse. The arrival will be in the beautiful valley of Chatillon-en-Diois.

Stage 2 – Into the wild Vercors. Let’s go in magnificent Vercors massif in Drôme for this 2nd stage in high mountains.

Stage 3 – Conquering Ventoux. We stay in Drôme for this 3rd stage before moving on to the Vaucluse to climb the Mount Ventoux.

Our 3rd stage will start in Buis-Les-Baronnies passing by Drôme and also Vaucluse counties. You will see from the starting line your goal : the mythical summit of Mont Ventoux. Before, you will run few kilometres to get to its bottom. On this stage, you will experiment a totally different atmosphere than the day before: weather and typical southern trail tracks will guide you all along the way. You will run through some remarkable villages before climbing Ventoux : a tough climb and a summit with an absolutely incredible view. Once you will descent this legendary summit, you will need to run few more kilometres to reach the finish line in Seguret, this little stunning village, ranked as one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Stage 3 – Conquering Ventoux. We stay in Drôme for this 3rd stage before moving on to the Vaucluse to climb the Mount Ventoux.

  • Lézan ➡︎ Meyrueis – 80 km – 2620 m D+
Stage 4 – Let’s go to Mount Aigoual

Stage 4 – Mont Aigoual. After a departure from Lézan by a greenway, we will pass through the Parc des Cevennes.
Starting from from Lézan, in Gard county, you will run on a Green Lane until the magnificent Parc des Cevennes for a stage with more climbs than descents. The route, passing through forests, regularly reveals amazing landscapes. Each step will bring you closer to the highest point of Cevennes: Mont Aigoual located at 1565m which will also take you through Lozère county. The descent will guide you to the finish line in Meyrueis, close to Gorges de la Jonte wonderful gates.

– Departure from Lézan on July 12, 2021 at 6 am.
– Arrival in Meyrueis on 13 July 2021 at 3.30 am.

Stage 4 – Mont Aigoual. After a departure from Lézan by a greenway, we will pass through the Parc des Cevennes.

Stage 5 – Flat stage guided by the water.No mountains for this stage, this route will be guided by the water in Aveyron county.

Salles-Curan ➡︎ Nauviale – 73 km – 1600 m D+.

No mountains for this stage which will be rather under the sign of water in Aveyron. From the very first kilometers, you will go along and have a superb view of the great Lake of Pareloup. This stage is easier in terms of difference in altitude and has more road sections than the other stages. It will allow you to progress more easily, especially after the first 4 stages. You will also pass through beautiful small villages and near several beautiful waterfalls. Some remarkable 360 degree panoramas will allow you to relieve your tired legs before arriving at Nauviale
For the runners who will have done all the stages, you will be able to say with almost certainty that you will be finishers of the 1st Trail de France.

Stage 6 – Let’s celebrate together ! The final stage in the form of a party to enjoy together what you have just accomplished.

Our final stage will be a party to enjoy together what you just have accomplished. It’s in the beautiful ski resort of Lioran, in Cantal county, where our last stage will take place.
We would like to end our event with a special race for all runners who have done all the stages: a time trial of “only” 11 km, with a start every 30 seconds, in the reverse ranking of the general classification.
The route will take you on Lioran’s heights, up to the Plomb de Cantal, where you will enjoy a breathtaking view on Auvergne Volcanoes. After a quicker downhill on the ski slopes (without snow for sure…), you will quickly reach the heart of the resort to appreciate what you have just realised. Bravo and congratulations!
Day’s stage runners will start together for a classic start on the same track before the other participants.

– For solo or team integral riders:
